Freaker USA Brings Joy and Koozies to Memphis
Last week, Memphis got its Freaker on! But don’t freak out yet because it’s not what you think. Freaker USA, Inc. is a North Carolina based company that is on the forefront of keeping bottles cool and hands comfortable. Zach Crain and the Freaker Team are pursuing their American dream of preventing all moist handshakes with their patent-pending product, the “Freaker.” Manufactured in Troy, North Carolina, Freaker is nationally recognized as the one-size-fits-all knit koozie that functionally makes your beverage feel special. Presented in myriad of prismatic designs, the Freaker is a strong, tight knit that keeps your liquids insulated in style!
Anyway, the Freaker Team is now in the middle of their Freak America tour. As they go from city to city to promote their product, they bring the party with them in their awesome box truck/house, the side of which folds out into a deck. Last week, they set up camp in Memphis on South Main by Sache, their generous host. Zach, Lauren and Oliver of the Freaker team were all out on the street – body-painting, roller-blading, goofing around, grilling pesto and cheese sandwiches, and making new Memphis friends. And, of course, they brought plenty of ”Freakers” with them. One could choose from many colors and patterns. Whatever rocks your boat! I got myself one called the “peanut,” all yellow with a zig-zag stripe (reminiscent of Charlie Brown) and another one called the “Carlton” because it resembles the sweater that Carlton wore on The Fresh Prince. After using my Freaker for almost a week, I have to say, it is truly a well-made product that I would highly recommend. If you want to drink from a bottle, you may as well drink from it in style.
